Fondo Rosa

I find myself at Düsseldorf airport waiting to board my delayed flight to Vienna. Therefore I can provide you with the update of yesterdays ride.
My "Amici di Angeli" (loosely translates to "the friends of Engelen", the town we live in) cycling group were to participate in an organised tour ride, that took us to the Arnhem-Nijmegen-Zutphen region and included sections of the Giro d'Italia stages from 2016, when it visited the Netherlands.

With most of the participants wearing a pink jersey (to match the Italy-theme) it was an interesting view to see so much pink snaking through the countryside.

The trip did not go without issues: although only one flat tire for the entire group, Raymond managed to damage his frame in such a way he had to abandon and ride a shortcut very carefully to keep his bike in one piece 😱.
It took a bit over 6 hours of riding to complete the distance and a very well deserved fresh beer was waiting for us upon arrival 😋

This ride also meant a new distance record for most of us, including myself.

Being in Vienna until Wednesday, I will pick up cycling on Thursday, which is Ascension Day, so probably doing a longer ride then.

Keep you all posted
